Lovers Voyage: A Short Love Poem by Injete Chesoni

Lovers Voyage
(A Short Love Poem and Lovers Poem by Injete Chesoni)
~~~~~~~
The voyage started off calm and peaceful
And gently we drifted along
As we sailed further out
A storm started brewing
And rapidly we lost all control
~~~~~~~
Swept by the waves of passion
We were helpless in the storm
Two self-less bodies together
Making a new form
~~~~~~~
When the storm was over
We gently drifted apart
And then we came back together
Joined at the heart
Separation: A Sad Love Poem by Injete Chesoni
Separation
(A Sad Love Poem by Injete Chesoni)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The things we do
to each other in the name of self-preservation
That lead to gulfs of separation
which cannot be sealed
Even by the glue of our love for each other.
`````````
We claim we are in love
But the things we do in the name of love
Make me wonder
Are we more in love with ourselves
Than we are with each other.
Mystery in Old Town Mombasa
(Scary Poems by Injete Chesoni)
```````````````
She had an air of mystery about her
as she sat in the window and stared
I was walking in Old Town Mombasa
and I remembered what they said
That ghosts haunt this town
and things are not always what they seem
There are genies dressed up as cats
and men in women’s bui-buis
So I stared in her eyes and scurried
Even as my mind paused to think
Was she really a woman in clothing
Or a supernatural being

The Real Christine Collins

The police had no idea what was going on in Wineville at the time until Canadian Sandford Clark was picked up by police for staying in the states too long. He alerted them to the fact that his cousin Gordon Northcott was kidnapping boys, molesting them, murdering them and dismembering their bodies on his chicken ranch, and that he had threatened Sandford, telling him he would kill him if he tried to leave the ranch. He also forced Sandford to help him murder the children that they kidnapped together, using Sandford to lure other children into his truck. Sandford led the LAPD to the buried remains of some of the children, claiming that he helped Gordon murder around 20 children, but that he couldn't be sure of an exact number because he had stopped counting.
The remains of Walter Collins were never found and no traces of him were ever found in the Wineville Chicken Coops. The boy that was given to her was a runaway found in DeKalb, Illinois, but he was originally a runaway from Iowa and confessed that his name was really Arthur Hutchins and that he had pretended to be Walter Collins hoping that Christine Collinswould pay his way to California and give him free room and board until he could meet the cowboy star Tom Mix.
In 1935 one boy who was presumed dead finally surfaced and told police that he had escaped along with Walter Collins and one other boy, but that they had split up and he had not seen Walter Collins since. Gordon Northcott was charged with three counts of first-degree murder for the deaths. He was hanged for his crimes on October 2nd, 1930.
Christine Collins was a fighter and never gaved up, she stayed hopeful until the day she died.

Poetry Art By Injete Chesoni: Devil In A Red Dress
(A Poem on Seduction by Injete Chesoni)
~~~~~~~
Her hair entices you.
Her hips seduce you.
Her backside confuses you.
Her sway draws you.
~~~
When you walk with her you walk in fields of fire.
When you lay with her the flames lick your body.
When you join with her you are left a pile of ash.

On The Eve of Change: A Marriage Poem By Injete Chesoni
(A Marriage Poem and Life Change Poem by Injete Chesoni)
~~~~~~~
I sit here knowing, I am a step away
from changing my life forever.
I ask myself am I ready,
to leave all that I have known behind,
and forge into the future.
I ask am I ready,
to throw all caution to the wind,
and entwine my life so closely with that of another.
I begin to hesitate
and on the eve of change,
I want to hold time still for a moment.
I cannot go back,
but I am so afraid to go forward.
Yet, I know that time will not wait for me.
And on the eve of change I realize
I must move forward with time,
or time will leave me behind.
Poetry Art: Shadows of Doubt By Injete Chesoni
What is real
and what is an image
When we stand naked before the world
do we show our real selves
or is our true self
consistently hidden in shadows of doubt
`````````````````
How can our true beauty be revealed
if it is cloaked in appearances
Perhaps when we go to the place of nothingness
our true beauty will emerge.

Creative Expressions of Poetry and Art: What This Blog Is About
My Artistic and Writing Style
Dear reader I would like to state from the start that rules constrain my creativity so I do not use them. My writing and art style is all about freedom and I write, paint and draw what comes to mind. I like to retain what I feel is the flow of the art piece and rules interfere with this. You will find that the writing style in this blog is conversational and the art and poetry style do not necessarily fit any conventions. My poetry can best be described as free verse and if you look at the rules guiding that poetic style my poetry still falls outside of it. Some of my poetry may also be described as ekphrastic (see the next section for more on that). My art does not fit perfectly into any particular genre. I do love nudes, vibrant color and some of the art masters such as Picasso and Matisse so you may find that my artwork is influenced by that. However, basically I write and draw what I like and I would encourage any of my creative readers to do the same.
Ekphrasis and Poetry Art: My
Support and Resources for Poets, Artists, Writers and Other Creative Types
I realize that some of you reading this blog may be my fellow artists or people who have an interest in the creative process. Therefore, I would like to cater for this section of readers as well. Once in a while I will be writing posts on the creative process that I hope will be of assistance to readers. I will also be adding resource links to the sidebar of this blog so you can look there once in a while to see if there is anything of interest to you. It is my hope that this blog will be a source of support and inspiration for people to explore their own creativity. On that note I will end this post. Let us embark on this journey of creative expression together.

Happy Fathers Day!!

Father's Day Poems

The things you taught me I will always know.
How could I not? The roots have sunk so deep:
All lessons of the heart that I will keep
No matter who I am or where I go.
Kids learn from what their parents are, and so
You are my book of life, the thoughts I reap;
Only in your arms I quiet sleep;
Under my words your voice sings soft and slow.
From you I learned the rules of right and wrong
Against which I at times had to rebel,
Though with regret I carry with me still.
How lucky I am to have been loved so well,
Even as I pushed against your will,Relying on a father fair and strong
A Little Girl Needs Daddy
A little girl needs DaddyFor many, many things:
Like holding her high off the ground
Where the sunlight sings!
Like being the deep music
That tells her all is right
When she awakens frantic with
The terrors of the night.
Like being the great mountain
That rises in her heart
And shows her how she might get home
When all else falls apart.
Like giving her the love
That is her sea and air,
So diving deep or soaring high
She'll always find him there.
Grilled Steaks Balsamico

Prep: 15 min., Chill: 2 hrs., Grill: 14 min., Cook: 4 min. These delicious steaks won top honors at the National Beef Cook-Off. We served the cheese sauce in hollowed-out lemon halves.
Yield...Makes 4 servings
Ingredients
2/3 cup balsamic vinaigrette
1/4 cup fig preserves
4 (6- to 8-ounce) boneless beef chuck-eye steaks
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
1 (6.5-ounce) container buttery garlic-and-herb spreadable cheese
Preparation
Process vinaigrette and preserves in a blender until smooth. Place steaks and vinaigrette mixture in a shallow dish or a large zip-top plastic freezer bag. Cover or seal, and chill at least 2 hours. Remove steaks from marinade, discarding marinade.
Grill, covered with grill lid, over medium-high heat (350° to 400°) 5 to 7 minutes on each side or until desired degree of doneness. Remove to a serving platter, and sprinkle evenly with salt and pepper; keep warm.
Heat cheese in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring often, 2 to 4 minutes or until melted. Serve cheese sauce with steaks.
Note: For testing purposes only, we used Alouette Garlic + Herbs Spreadable Cheese.
